Welcome to the website of the First Baptist Church of Marion, Illinois!
I appreciate the opportunity to share about our church family and would be thrilled for you to accept my invitation to worship with us this week.
As you walk into the North entrance doors you will see our goals stated on the wall: love God, love others, and live the life (that Jesus died on the cross to make possible for us). If you have never attended our church and would like to see a sample of what we do, click on the YouTube channel link and view a few of our services. Our live service is at 10 AM in the main auditorium each Sunday morning and our television broadcast is on the Heartland CW channel (WQWQ-TV) at 11 am each Sunday morning, recorded from the week before.
We also have Bible Study classes for all ages at 8:50 am, an evening worship service in the main auditorium at 6 pm on Sunday nights, and a prayer meeting/Bible Study time at 6 pm on Wednesday nights in the chapel. The Sunday evening services have separate children and youth activities designed for them to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and discipleship. Also on Wednesday evening we have AWANA classes for the children and youth.
If you are looking for a church home, please consider becoming part of our family of believers. If you would like to have a conversation about our church to answer any questions you may have, please call the office (618-997-9386) to make an appointment with me. I love talking about the various ministries of our church and to share the vision God has laid upon our hearts. If you are simply visiting in the Marion area, you will be most welcome to join us for Bible Study and worship services as long as your stay allows.
Here is my promise to you. When you worship with us we will sing songs of love and adoration to our Lord, we will preach the word of God as the truth, and we will lift Jesus up, claiming His promise: John 12:32 (NKJV)“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself."
Some people get up and say, “I’ve got to go to church today to be right with God.” At First Baptist, we like to say instead, “We get to go to church today to tell the Lord how much we love Him.” I hope you will come and celebrate with us the wonderful relationship God made possible through Jesus Christ. John 3:16 (NKJV)For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.Join us this week and we will celebrate the fact together that we get to go to church today to tell the Lord how much we love Him.
